Robertson Sumner joins techUK to help the IT industry tackle the talent crisis.

PRESS RELEASE

Leading specialist recruiter Robertson Sumner has joined the members’ association techUKto help the IT industry find solutions to the talent shortage on a larger scale.

Marc Sumner, Managing Director of Robertson Sumner said:

The time is right for us to join techUK. For the last 16 years we have been focused on helping the industry grow by recruiting the best IT Sales & Marketing professionals.

The IT sector has enjoyed exponential growth across all sectors. There are 1.46 million people employed by digital companies (Tech City report) and IT spending in the UK has grown from $95.9bn in 2009 to a predicted $123.6bn revenues in 2016 (statista.com).

The industry is growing faster than the talent is maturing and it’s critical that businesses don’t fall behind due to an out of date approach to recruitment.

So we’ve joined techUK to help. With such a terrific platform we can amplify our voice in the market and bring this issue and the solutions we are helping develop to the forefront of the discussion.

Increasingly, we are working with employers willing to think more innovatively about where to find their next sales superstar. We are encouraging business leaders to understand the transferable skills that sales and marketing people can deploy. We are helping to shape and benchmark employers to become employers of choice. We are working with clients who ‰’grow their own’ talent and those who forensically target individuals or teams for specific reasons.

No longer can people afford to simply advertise a job and hope for the best.

We will soon be launching The Talent Forum. This regular session, to be held at techUK’s office in London, will bring together businesses leaders who are succeeding in attracting and acquiring the right people in very different ways. We will be inviting peers from across the membership and from our own client base to come and learn and share feedback.
