Schools Support Engineer – About The Role:

Our client are part of an independently owned British group of companies with fantastic growth and development plans for the business in place. A value added service supplier providing IT products and services to business and public sector organisations this is an incredibly exciting time to join a business who partner with pioneering UK and global brands. The Schools Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and services to schools serviced by managed service contract(s).

  • Provide technical IT support on customer sites
  • Install and maintain desktop environments using appropriate tools
  • Maintain accurate and concise systems documentation
  • Investigate, resolve and identify root causes of incidents or problems
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware and software assets
  • Carry out regular pro-active checks
  • Report all work done on-site via daily report

Schools Support Engineer – About You:

The successful candidate will have the following technical knowledge and experience:

  • Strong background in providing desktop support within a mixed hardware environment
  • Track record of building, configuration and troubleshooting desktop and server hardware
  • Experience with user management within a Windows Active Directory
  • Experience in creating and maintaining desktop builds and deployment tools including WDS and SCCM
  • Good knowledge of desktop and server backup and recovery capabilities
  • Knowledge of TCP / IP networking and troubleshooting common problems
  • Experience of installing and supporting Microsoft application suite

This is a customer facing role within a challenging education environment. Working closely with other members of the Managed Services Team, you will be involved with the day-to-day support of both staff and student users across a mixture of platforms so must be a self-motivating, driven, and passionate engineer!
