Understanding your business

We require an in depth consultation with the hiring manager to gain a comprehensive understanding of your business, the culture, and an in depth candidate specification. This is imperative for us, so that we can offer the right recruitment solution for your business.

Once we have a full understanding of your requirements, we will start our recruitment process by agreeing timelines for the search process, and look to gain commitment from you in the form of dates for conducting 1st interviews. You can be confident we will only identify and present candidates who can succeed in the specified role.

Long list resourcing

We use a variety of methods to find the right candidate for your company, creating a “long list” of potential candidates who could do the role. This is done by searching our in- house database system, and managing the response to tailored online advertising and traditional media that we put out on your behalf. We also have new candidates being interviewed daily, and your client manager would proactively use their own contacts in the industry to find suitable candidates.

Short list selection

Having generated a “long list” of potential candidates for your company, we will initially pre screen all of these candidates by phone, in order to identify their suitability for the role. This will be assessed by their communication skills, and the information they provide on themselves.

When a “long list” candidate suitably impresses us, we will arrange and conduct a more formal interview. This will investigate their background and current situation discussing targets, past achievements, industry experience, typical order value, and target customers. We also analyze their strengths and potential areas for development. We then move on to their career aspirations, and motivators for finding a new position, and reassess their suitability for the role we are recruiting for.

Presentation of your Company

Once we have our short list, we will present the opportunity to them in greater detail, and will ask them to research the company. This is to justify their commitment to the position, and their interest levels in attending an interview. After this process we select our best 3 candidates, which will be our recommendations for you to interview. We strongly believe that if you interview the candidates we present to you, you will find a suitable candidate.

Interview Management

We will arrange all interviews on your behalf, whether at your offices, or our interview suites. Post interview feedback will be given as soon as we speak to the candidate, ensuring you have information immediately on candidates that are interested in working for you. We also look to give the candidate immediate feedback so everyone involved knows the outcome of the interview as soon as possible.

Offer Management

We strongly believe that offers between clients and candidates are more successful if handled by Robertson & Sumner. We want to ensure you recruit the candidate you really want, which on many occasions involves negotiation. With our recruitment experience we can manage this process effectively so a mutual agreement is reached and start date organised efficiently.

Post Offer Management and After Sales Consultancy

Following acceptance of an offer, we maintain regular communication with all parties up to the start date. We offer resignation and counter offer advice in order to make sure the candidate is 100% committed to their new position. Our post offer management service allows a smooth transition, delivering you the quality candidate you set out to find. We also contact the candidate after they have started with you, to find out how they have settled in to their new role. We then provide you with the feedback on your new employee.

At first our plans were to use various consultancies as we felt it would be most effective in saving time and cost. I am glad to say I was wrong.
